As per the recent amendment to the ordinance titled Chapter 80: ANIMALS. Individuals who possess prohibited animals prior to the effective date of the amendment shall be permitted provided the following:
A) Registration with the Borough Secretary prior to March 16, 2026.
B) The animal is securely contained or confined in a manner that ensures the safety of the public and welfare of the animal.
C) The animal shall receive routine veterinary care and be maintained in humane conditions in accordance with animal welfare regulations.
THIS ONLY APPLIES TO CURRENTLY OWNED ANIMALS AND NOT REPLACEMENTS OR ADDITIONAL PROHIBITED ANIMALS ACQUIRED AFTER DECEMBER 16, 2025.
Prohibited animals:
Livestock: Bovine animals, Equine animals, hog, pig, swine, sheep, goats, poultry and pigeons
Exotic Animals: Bears, coyotes, lions, tigers, leopards, ocelots, jaguars, cheetahs, margay, mountain lion, lynx, bobcat, wolves, and hyena
Any poisonous life-threatening species of reptile, amphibian or other life-threatening species
